Rise Energy partners with Sungrow for national distribution in New Zealand

At a glance

  • Sungrow now available through one national distribution channel
  • Recognised as the world’s most bankable inverter and storage brand
  • Local stock,  technical and commissioning support, and training
  • Full portfolio for residential, commercial, and large scale C&I projects

New Zealand installers have asked for reliable access to Sungrow for years. That access is now confirmed.

Rise Energy is now an authorised Sungrow distributor for the New Zealand market. The agreement was finalised with the Sungrow team at All Energy in October after months of preparation. Installers can now work with the full Sungrow portfolio through a single national channel with local stock and support.

Why this matters for the NZ solar market

The local market is changing fast.Systems are larger, storage is becoming a standard feature, and finance partners want stronger technical proof before signing off projects.

Sungrow helps solve these pressures. The brand brings global scale, long-term financial strength, technology leadership, and a proven record across residential, commercial, and C&I projects. With distribution now consolidated, installers and solar specialists gain a clear supply path and direct support from Rise Energy’s  NZ team.

About Sungrow

Sungrow is the largest PV inverter manufacturer in the world. The company has installed more than 870 GW of power electronics, operated for over 28 years, and continues to grow across international markets.

Independent assessments back this up. BloombergNEF has ranked Sungrow the most bankable inverter brand for five years in a row and the most bankable energy storage supplier in 2024. For financed projects, this gives lenders confidence and reduces friction during approval.

Sungrow is publicly listed and reports strong year-on-year revenue and profit growth. This gives installers assurance the company has the depth to support its products long term.

Global scale that supports local projects

Sungrow has extensive inverter and storage manufacturing capacity, including large production outside China. For New Zealand, this means better supply stability, more predictable lead times, and support for project pipelines that need consistent delivery.

This scale is reflected in the brand’s position in Europe and other mature markets where performance, warranty strength, and grid support are heavily scrutinised.

Technology that fits modern NZ systems

Sungrow’s platform supports a wide range of residential, commercial, and large scale C&I projects. Key features include:

  • High-efficiency inverters with maximum conversion efficiencies up to 99 percent
  • Single and three phase hybrids that support flexible storage design
  • Commercial storage systems with strong control of round-trip efficiency
  • Grid support capability designed to work well in mixed and evolving grid conditions

For installers, this leads to simpler system design, clear configuration steps, and dependable field performance.

Safety and reliability

Sungrow has invested in extensive independent testing. In 2024, the company completed large-scale battery burn tests under DNV oversight. The systems ran through more than 25 hours of continuous combustion with no fire propagation, well beyond standard requirements.

Feedback from installers in mature markets highlights reliability, ease of installation, and responsive support.

Sustainability profile

Sungrow maintains strong sustainability ratings. The company holds an AA MSCI ESG rating, an EcoVadis Gold rating, and ranks first on the China Top 500 ESG Companies list. It also participates in RE100, EP100, and the UN Global Compact. These credentials align well with NZ procurement expectations.
